Books and non-Books

I've finished The Casual Vacancy yesterday night and liked it. It captured me from the very first lines in the same way as Harry Potter's saga did many years ago.

Yes, there are many deaths and mortal cases, the novel begins with the death of the hero and ends with two another's deaths and narrates about despondency, dignity, vanity. Every character battled with self misery and circumstances but a few of persons won.

I was thinking about happiness and being/feeling happy after reading the book...

Crying, he climbed back up the slippery bank to the bench. He was accustomed to not being given what he wanted, and disobedient by habit, because grown-ups were arbitrary in their wrath and their rules, so he had learned to seize his tiny pleasures wherever and whenever he could.

and I remembered my old friend who used to say -

I am happy on the every smallest excuse ...

For the death and books - I am going to finish sorting out the all books left me by my dead friend. The funny thing is I found the one among her book collection with my name on the front cover and my silly autograph on the first page.
